Bosses at Edinburgh airport are asking passengers to leave plenty of time if they're flying out between today and Monday.
This weekend is expected to be the busiest of the year so far, with around 90,000 people expected to fly out as the school holidays begin. At the same time, almost 70,000 tourists are expected to arrive in the capital.
David Wilson, Chief Operating Officer at Edinburgh Airport, said: "Last month saw over one million passengers travel through the terminal – our busiest May on record and almost 10% up on last year.
"Summer is always our busiest time of the year and we anticipate our numbers will only continue to grow. Between today and Monday we’ll see over 160,000 passengers arrive and depart the terminal. The annual trade fortnight is also just around the corner and I want our passengers to know we’ll be pulling out all the stops to ensure the airport operates as well as possible."
Stuart Young from the Airport has this advice for travellers:
Top holiday destinations this year include Amsterdam, Dublin and Palma Mallorca.
