Body Of Dog Found At School

The body of a dog has been found in the grounds of a secondary school in Kirkcaldy.

The female German shepherd was discovred in undergrowth at St Andrews High School on August 24th.

SSPCA workers say the animal is estimated to have been dead for a matter of days.

Staff are now trying to trace her owners via a microchip.

Inspector Nicola Liddell said, "The dog was concealed under bracken in the grounds of the school and discovered by a staff member.

"She was quite badly decomposed and is estimated to have been dead for a matter of days when she was found.

"We know the dog was around 14 years old as her date of birth was registered on her microchip.

"Unfortunately we have been unable to trace her owners via the chip and we are appealing to anyone with information to contact us."

Anyone with information is being urged to contact the Scottish SPCA Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
