Police in Fife are stepping up patrols after two attempted fires at a sheltered housing complex in Kirkcaldy.
The "wilful fire-raising" incidents happened between Thursday (May 21) and Saturday (May 23) at Saunders Court.
An unknown number of suspects tried to set fire to the door and window of two properties belonging to elderly women.
Officers say it is the culmination of a series of anti-social behaviour incidents over the last few weeks.
Police are now appealing for any information regarding these incidents. Officers have been conducting high visibility patrols in the area in order to provide community reassurance.
Police Constable Mike Daglish said: “Fortunately these fires have not taken hold and burnt out quickly, however they have caused much distress to the elderly residents who have been targeted.
“We are appealing for any information regarding these incidents. Anyone who has any information is asked to contact police immediately."
Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
